The coronavirus has reached the highest levels of government and the sporting world, with Canada’s prime minister isolating himself when his wife tested positive, the Arsenal manager and a Chelsea player being diagnosed and the Australian Grand Prix canceled just hours before the event was due to start.

Justin Trudeau’s wife has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus, his office said late on Thursday while assuring the public the Canadian prime minister is fine.

Wife of the Canadian Prime Minister, Grégoire Trudeau, announced that she is suffering from CoronaVirus after returning from the UK. Grégoire will remain in Isolation for 14 days as she has Mild Symptoms and Feeling Well. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Justin also began isolation and was “in good health with no symptoms”.

“Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive,” the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement, adding she would remain in isolation and her symptoms were mild.

Since PM has no Symptoms so he’ll not be tested. He will Continue with his Duties and will address Canadians on Friday as per his Doctors.

“The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms,” the statement said, noting he would also be in isolation for two weeks and — on the advice of his doctors — will not be tested for the virus.

Sophie Gregoire Isolated for 14 Days

“Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive,” the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement, adding she would remain in isolation and her symptoms were mild.

Grégoire Trudeau thanked those who’ve reached out to her and said she’s doing well.
“Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon,” she said. “Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns.”

Canada has 147 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including one death. Most of Canada’s cases have been traced to China, Iran, Italy or Egypt.
