We being Muslims are blessed with religion, Islam that promotes high standards of cleanliness and hygiene practice in our daily lives. But it is contemptible when people are seen negligent in public places and forgot Safai Nisaf Imaan Hai, which is the latest taunt and punch of the UK High Commissioner on the DC Islamabad, Muhammad Hamza. Indeed, the popular adage, “Chullu bhar pani main doob maro” suits the Pakistani awaam that despite being called out for its littering habit remains unaffected. Pakistanis had a gratified moment when the UK High Commissioner, Christian Turner shared yet another click of the garbage dumped on Margalla Hills. A foreigner may sense an ugly blush but it is highly improbable for the citizens to be even a mite bit ashamed.
Meals are for sharing not littering. Two bags of rubbish collected on Margallas #FridayMorningWalk – please help keep beautiful Islamabad clean cc @hamzashafqaat @dcislamabad @CleanGreenPK pic.twitter.com/jHcvUWxO1c

Here goes another smack on the face of the thick-skinned awaam that feels no disgrace in littering its own country. As Turner was on a walk at Margalla Hills in the morning like before, he came across a crapload of litter. Unlike many of us who would just walk by the lying heap of litter, Turner had the courtesy to clean it up. It is undoubtedly a moment of humiliation for Pakistan.

The UK High Commissioner did the same just a week ago. Margalla Hills is a place that is supposed to be clean and green all the time, but our awaam is litter-friendly. Taking to Twitter, the UK High Commissioner again gave us a glimpse of the pile of trash lying on Margalla Hills.
“Another Friday morning walk, another two bags of litter. Safaai nisf imaan hai [Cleanliness is half of the faith],” Turner wrote.

It may be recalled that the last time he shared a similar instance, ashamed Pakistanis were quick to point how Islam accentuates cleanliness.
Twittersphere schools the current Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad
While Turner cc’d the tweet to Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat as a reminder to make him realize his job duties. And a bull-headed deputy commissioner responds to Turner, “Great,” and it has ignited the social media. Twitter is headed to school Muhammad Hamza.
People are not ready to grasp DC’s “great”, it seems he didn’t understand why Turner has tagged him, obviously not to say Good Morning or Hello!
This comment is grossly misunderstood. I was just appreciating the efforts of @CTurnerFCDO to keep Islamabad clean. I would request everyone to not litter in forests. It is everyone’s responsiblity to keep their surroundings clean. https://t.co/1gdhwiai8C

Margalla Hills are admired for not just the magnificent view but also the leisure strides for all age groups. It is an ideal place to eat al fresco while enjoying the famous wafts of Islamabad. It is dismaying to see amblers and fun-loving families rushing to their homes leaving the litter right there.
As a Pakistani, it is your job to keep ensure the country tidy!
